There is some interesting information about the feather of birds. Read in and complete the notes given below it.

             The feather is the one thing that makes a bird unique from all other animals-not flight, not eggs. All an animal needs is one feather and it is considered as a bird. Feathers not only help bird fly, they also keep birds warm and dry. Feathers are excellent for birds to hide from enemies. Most birds use them to attract and select a mate. Some other roles that feathers serve are: balancing on the ground, in flight and as lining inside nests for incubation.

There are many kinds of feathers. They can be broadly divided into two types body: Feathers and flight feathers.

(a) My School

"Discipline is the weapon of growing children". I read in Mission School, Bilaspur. It is the best school of our town. It is not a very big school. It has only 600 students. It has 20 classrooms. There is a big hall also. The rooms are quite big and airy. There is one office room also.

       There are twenty teachers in my school. Our teach-ers are very kind and good. They teach us nicely. Mr. Das is our head master. He is a gentleman. Mr. Agrawal is our class-teacher. He teaches us English. He is a good teacher.

We have a big play ground. We play football and cricket there.

I am proud of my school. It is very dear to me.

(b) Postman

The postman is a helpful man. He works in a post-office. He wears Khaki uniform.He has a leather bag.

He keeps letters, parcels and money-orders in it.

       The postman is a very hard-worker. He works in all the day. He brings our letters, parcels and money-orders. He is very regular. He comes to our houses, twice daily. We are happy to see him. We always wel-come him.

The postman collects letters from the postboxes.

He takes them to the G.P.O. There he sorts and stamps the letters.

The postman is a very careful and honest worker.

We must be kind and helpful to him.

(c) Any Pet/Domestic Animal

The Cow

Cow is a domestic animal. She is found every-where in India. She is very gentle and good.

Cow has four feet. She has two long horns, two long ears and two large eyes. She has a long tail also. Cows are of many colours. They are white, red, brown and black.

Cow grazes green grass. She eats grain husk and straw.

The cow is a very useful animal. She gives us milk.. Milk is good for health. We make curd, butter, ghee and sweets from milk. The cow also gives us calves and dung.

Cow dung is used for making manure. Calves grow into bullocks and pull the carts and ploughs. Hindus worship cow. We must take good care of her.

(d) Any Festival (Diwali)/

Indian Festival

India is a country of fairs and festivals. We cel-ebrate many festivals every year. Diwali is our most important festival. It is a festival of lights. Diwali means "Rows of lamps."

Diwali is celebrated in the month of Kartik, On this day Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after four-teen years.

Diwali is a festival of joy and pleasure. People welcome this festival with great joy. They white-wash and paint their house and shops.

On this day people worship Goddess Laxmi. They decorate their houses with burning lamps. Rows of burning tapers look very beautiful on this dark night. People wear new clothes and distribute sweets. Diwali is a good festival. We must celebrate this festival in a nice way.

      A visit to Grandparents House

Ans. My most favourite place is my grandmother's house. It is located in a village near Raipur. It has only 5 rooms made of mud but it is very well constructed. The walls of the house are painted with white colour and it is decorated with wooden artwork inside. My grandfather personally took part in building this house and he made this house with so much love This house also backyard where my grandma used to grow fruits like guava, amla, mango etc. and vegetables like cauliflower, bottle gourd, lady finger etc.. I have always been more excited to spend mysummer holidays at this place.
