1. Subject and verbs must agree in number.

Example-

 1.The dog barks when he is angry.

2.The dogs bark when they are angry.

2. The words between the subject and verb di not  affect agreement.

Example

The little boy who is wearing boots is well-known dressed.

3. The verb is plural if two subjects are joined by "and"

Example

The boy and the girl were  late for their examination.

4. The verb is singular if two subjects refer to the same person or thing and are joined by "and"

Example

Cucumber and tomato is my favorite sandwich.

5. The verb is singular if "each" "every"  or no comes before the subject.

Example

No shouting is allowed.Every girl and boy is coming.

6. The verb is singular for units of measurement or time.

Examples

 Ten minutes is enough time.

7. The verb is plural for pronoun.

Example

All of them were going to the movie.

8. The verb is singular for indefinite pronoun.

Example -

Everyone is waiting for the play to start.

Example

The class is yelling.
